There will not be much homework in Kindergarten. Here are some suggestions of additional at home activities to do with your child.
Reading:
*Please try to read 15-20 minutes each night with your child. Make sure you each take turns reading. Here are some different read aloud strategies:
-Read the words -Retell a story that has already been read to them -Tell a story by looking at the pictures -Find known letters and/or sight words
Writing : Having your child practice holding a pencil/crayon is important to help your children strength their fine motor skills. Having your child practice writing their names, letters, and numbers is something to focus on for the beginning of the school year.
Math:
Have your child practice reading, writing and representing (building with cubes, using ten frames, counters, drawing, etc.) numbers 0-31.
